SCOPE: To remove Crane and Boom complete from vessel after being hit by a shore side container crane on the top sheave. Repairs included disassembling sheaves cutting out and welding in place a new cheek plate, machining of shaft bore, referenced from existing adjacent plate. Reassemble new sheaves, shaft and bearings. Inspection and ultimately changing out of the slewing ring. refitting of crane back on board the vessel with operational and weight tests.
